Safety comes first. It’s that simple. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is the entity charged with setting regulations for the safety of products in the marketplace. In 2008, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) was enacted to raise the safety standards for children’s products. The Act requires that products intended to be used by children (a) comply with all applicable children's product safety rules, (b) are tested for compliance by a CPSC-accepted laboratory, (c) have a written Children's Product Certificate (issued by the manufacturer or importer) that provides evidence of the product's compliance, and (d) have permanent tracking information affixed to the products and their packaging. It is our responsibility as a company to see that these measures are in place.

PlayLearn Sensory Motion Tubes

Sensory Motion Tubes, item #: SLTMX3OSD, the manufacturer confirmed the product passed all safety tests. However, we have now been informed that, although the manufacturer’s data and label state that the product is safe for children Age 3+, they actually tested only for children Age 8+.  We have also been informed of an incident of product breakage and possible leaking of potentially toxic substance. Although this is just a possible safety issue, it is unacceptable to Becker’s.  To learn more, click here.

Product Recalls

The CPSC in coordination with Grizzly Industrial have recalled the Children’s Tool Kit, item #H5855. This product was sold through many companies including Becker’s School Supplies between 2011-2019. Our immediate concern is for the safety of children in your care so please remove the item from use if it matches this description.
